Join the Mount Isa Hospital Maternity Service as a Clinical Midwife – Lactation Consultant, where you'll provide specialist, evidence‐based infant feeding support while leading clinical practice, education and quality improvement across a busy regional maternity service.
This is a pivotal role supporting women, families and clinicians across the continuum of care.About The RoleAs the lactation consultant you will protect, promote and support breastfeeding by educating women, families, health professionals and the community about lactation and artificially feeding newborns, infants and children.In this role you play a key leadership role within the Mount Isa Hospital Midwifery Service, delivering specialised lactation and infant feeding care to women and their families across inpatient, outpatient and outreach settings.Working autonomously and collaboratively, you'll promote best practice, support complex feeding needs, and contribute to achieving Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) accreditation, while mentoring and guiding the broader maternity team.Working with usFor 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,695.
If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$11,085; and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,390 (pro rata for part time employees).
In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (full time employees) (inc. spouse/dependents) or 1 return airfare p.a. (part time employees)
