About the role
The Anaesthetic Healthcare Practitioner (Technician) Graduate supports the delivery of safe, high-quality anaesthetic services within the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Working under supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role provides skilled assistance to anaesthetists and contributes to the safe conduct of anaesthetic procedures across a broad range of perioperative and procedural settings.
The successful candidate will prepare and maintain the anaesthetic setting, assist with elective and emergency anaesthetic procedures, and develop professional knowledge and practical skills through structured learning and clinical experience. The role provides an excellent opportunity for graduates to build their capability while contributing to patient safety, quality care and service excellence.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide skilled assistance during elective and emergency anaesthetic procedures while supporting the protected conduct of patient care.
- Prepare, maintain and monitor anaesthetic equipment, consumables and clinical environments in accordance with departmental standards and manufacturer requirements.
- Apply established protocols,
equipment checks and safety processes to support patient safety and minimise clinical risk.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, communicating effectively with clinicians and colleagues to support positive patient outcomes.
- Participate in professional development, quality improvement activities and ongoing learning to build capability and maintain contemporary clinical practice.
