Northshore Dental and Oral Health is seeking an experienced Oral Health Therapist to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality preventative and therapeutic oral health care in a supportive, patient-focused environment. Based in sunny Pacific Paradise you will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary dental team, working alongside dentists to enhance patient outcomes and promote oral health within our community.
What you'll be doing
As an Oral Health Therapist, you will be responsible for a diverse range of clinical and preventative duties, including:
- Assessing and evaluating patients' oral health status and providing tailored preventative advice and education
- Performing non-invasive therapeutic procedures including scaling, root planing, and polishing to maintain optimal oral hygiene
- Performing procedures like restorations, whitening and orthodontic reviews for our principal dentist.
- Providing oral health education to patients regarding hygiene practices, dietary modifications, and disease prevention strategies
- Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with privacy and professional standards
- Collaborating with dentists and other team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and treatment planning
- Supporting clinical and administrative processes to ensure efficient practice operations
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist
- Tertiary qualification in Oral Health Therapy from an accredited Australian institution
- Current CPR certification appropriate to healthcare settings
- Strong clinical skills with demonstrated competency in preventative and therapeutic oral health procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centred approach to care
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Sound knowledge of oral health promotion,
disease prevention, and current best practice guidelines
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment
- Professional approach to confidentiality and patient privacy
Preferred experience includes working in diverse patient populations, experience in paediatric oral health, and familiarity with Carestack and Sidexis.
