Bauhinia
Bauhinia State School is situated in a quiet rural community, approximately 45 minutes from Moura and around 2.5 hours from both Rockhampton and Emerald. This location offers a peaceful and supportive environment while still maintaining access to larger regional centres for services, shopping, and travel. The rural location also provides opportunities for a balanced lifestyle, with less congestion, a close connection to nature, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Teachers often experience a high level of professional autonomy, diverse teaching experiences across year levels, and the chance to take on leadership responsibilities that may not be as readily available in larger schools. Our school culture is built on a deep sense of belonging and connection. Students learn and play alongside peers across year levels, developing leadership, empathy, and respect for others. Older students naturally take on mentoring roles, while younger students feel supported and confident within the school community.
The successful candidate will have the prospect to take on meaningful leadership within the school, including leading aspects of curriculum, behaviour, and pedagogy. In our small school setting, this may involve guiding whole-school approaches to teaching and learning, supporting consistent and proactive behaviour practices,
and contributing to evidence-based pedagogical improvement. The role provides scope to build leadership capability through collaboration with colleagues, involvement in school decision-making, and the ability to make a visible impact on student outcomes across the school.
