Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver media and communications strategies that support nbn’s strategic objectives.
- Shape and protect the organisation’s reputation through strategic media engagement and impactful communications.
- Drive proactive media opportunities, translate complex information into compelling stories, and provide trusted communications advice to senior leaders.
- Support media engagement, journalist briefings, executive communications, and issue management to ensure clear, accurate messaging aligned to organisational priorities.
- Manage both proactive and reactive communications, especially within regional Australia or highly regulated industries.

Qualifications

- Significant experience in media relations, journalism, or external communications.
- Proven ability to develop communications strategies, build strong media relationships, and deliver impactful storytelling.




- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into engaging content.
- Experience navigating fast‑paced environments, handling ambiguity, competing priorities, and emerging issues.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and purpose‑driven mindset with a passion for influencing and building trust.
