Job Summary

Location: Sydney CBD with hybrid working flexibility.
Contract: 6‑month temporary role with potential for extension.
Pay: $90 per hour plus super.
Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day).
No direct reports.

About the Role

Our client is a NSW government organisation based in the Sydney CBD. They are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team on a 6‑month temporary contract with potential for extension.

Responsibilities

- Prepare statutory financial statements and workpapers for NSW Treasury.
- Manage accruals, prepayments and month‑end activities to support budgeting and financial decision‑making.
- Lead accounting projects and systems development to improve operational efficiency.
- Oversee asset registry maintenance and cash flow management to ensure fund liquidity.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to meet audit and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance; CA/CPA desirable.




- Previous experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant.
- Proven leadership experience across financial accounting functions.
- Strong proficiency with accounting systems.
- Previous government experience (highly desirable).
