About the Role We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Certificate III in Civil Construction Trainer & Assessor to deliver and assess nationally recognised training in RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction and related qualifications. The successful candidate will provide engaging classroom, practical and workplace-based training while ensuring compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.
Key Responsibilities - Deliver and assess the RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction and related units of competency.
- Facilitate classroom, practical and workplace-based training using learner-centred teaching methods.
- Conduct competency-based assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Develop, review and maintain training and assessment resources.
- Mentor and support apprentices, trainees and other learners throughout their training journey.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessment evidence and attendance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with RTO Standards, training package requirements and organisational policies.
- Participate in assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Liaise with employers and industry stakeholders to support workplace learning and assessment.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Selection
Criteria - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent, or a qualification meeting current VET trainer requirements).
- Relevant qualification in Civil Construction or a related field.
- Demonstrated recent industry experience in civil construction, road construction, earthworks, pipelines, drainage or infrastructure projects.
- Sound knowledge of the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.
- Solid understanding of competency-based training and assessment.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current Driver’s Licence. Desirable - Experience delivering apprenticeship and traineeship training.
- Current High Risk Work Licences (such as Forklift, Dogging, Rigging or Elevated Work Platform).
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Traffic Management or First Aid qualifications.
- Experience in the mining, construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Experience delivering training in regional or remote locations.
