Pharmacy is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacy leader or emerging leader who is ready to challenge themselves, gain exposure to a diverse range of clinical and operational pharmacy services, and develop the leadership skills and experience that will enhance their future career opportunities. The current substantive occupant of this position will remain within the Alice Springs Hospital Pharmacy Department and will provide a comprehensive handover to support a smooth transition into the role. Following this handover period, they will continue in another senior position within the department and will remain available to provide ongoing mentorship, operational guidance and support.

About The Role And Department The successful applicant will manage and lead pharmacy service operations at Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) and Tennant Creek Hospital (TCH) to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, culturally appropriate and effective hospital pharmacy and medicines distribution service. The ASH Pharmacy Department is a modern and progressive department comprising 20 pharmacists, 2 intern pharmacists and 7 pharmacy technicians. The department is located within Alice Springs Hospital (ASH), a 200+ bed regional referral hospital and the only hospital in Central Australia, servicing a catchment of 1.6 million square kilometres.

ASH has strong links with multiple Australian pharmacy schools and is a teaching centre for Flinders Medical School. Our pharmacists enjoy exposure to an exceptionally broad scope of practice, including Indigenous health, Nephrology,



Intensive Care, Infectious Diseases, Emergency, Maternity and Obstetrics, Rehabilitation, Hospital in the Home, Palliative Care, Day Oncology, Mental Health, General Medicine, Surgery and Paediatrics. Services include ward-based clinical pharmacy, medicines information, inpatient and outpatient dispensing, non-sterile manufacturing, and regional pharmacy services supporting remote health clinics across the Northern Territory and the border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.

ASH Pharmacy is also an accredited SHPA Foundation Residency Program site and currently supports two resident pharmacists.

With this loading applied, remuneration aligns strongly with metropolitan hospital benchmarks. Additional retention, professional development and superannuation benefits further enhance the overall package.

Base Salary (range of $132,408–$147,919 )PLUS 15% Market Allowance (this means an additional 15% paid on top of base salary).

Salary plus six (6) weeks of paid annual recreation leave, plus leave loading.





$10,000 Retention Bonus payable at every 12 months of continuous service.

Professional Development Allowance based on years of completed service (= $1000 for 1-3 years & $2k for 3+ years of service).

12% Superannuation.

Salary sacrifice options (including $9,005 general + additional packaging options).

Travel and accommodation support (where applicable and open for further discussion).

Monday–Friday hours (8:00am – 4:21pm) with a 1-hour lunch break, plus participation in an on-call and weekend roster with structured orientation and ongoing support.

Overtime, on-call and weekend shifts attract additional penalty payments in line with the NT Health Enterprise Agreement.
