Education
Join our Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Unit and play a key leadership role in advancing Blood Management practices across Metro South Health. As the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you'll combine advanced clinical expertise with education, quality improvement and strategic collaboration to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes. You will:
- Provide expert clinical leadership, consultancy and specialist nursing advice in Blood Management.
- Lead education, training and support for clinical teams to promote the safe and appropriate use and administration of blood and blood products.
- Drive evidence-based practice through quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, policy development and service redesign.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes, influence best practice and support organisational patient safety priorities.
About You
We're looking for an experienced and influential Registered Nurse who is passionate about patient safety and improving clinical practice through leadership, collaboration and innovation. You have:
- Extensive experience and advanced clinical expertise in Blood Management, with the ability to provide expert consultation and influence.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring, educating and supporting clinicians while fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement,
auditing and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Blood Management Standard.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead change and implement evidence-based improvements.

Unit Profile
The MSH Clinical Governance team works collaboratively with executives, senior managers, clinical/non-clinical staff and consumers to ensure that MSH has an effective, coordinated, organisation-wide approach to quality improvement, clinical effectiveness, patient safety, patient experience and consumer liaison services. This ensures MSH's approach to clinical governance remains contemporary,
consumer focused and based on the best available evidence.
The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team provides leadership and support for patient safety and quality at an organisational level, through incident monitoring, review, advice and training, to support best practice and shared learning. This team will have strong links with Directorate based Safety and Quality Units.
