Position summary

Join the dynamic team as a Fitter and play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable battery recycling operations at our cutting-edge facility in Kewdale, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity to build your career in battery recycling or e-waste processing while making a tangible environmental difference.

In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing critical mechanical equipment, including piping systems and valves, ensuring optimal plant performance in a fast-paced industrial processing environment. Working within a continuous 24/7 plant operations environment, you will contribute directly to tackling the e-waste challenge while supporting decarbonisation efforts through purpose-built innovation.

Drawing on your expertise in chemical processing or hydrometallurgical plant maintenance, you will conduct regular inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. Your experience with plastic pipe welding and fabrication, along with your ability to manage equipment maintenance and review technical documentation, will be key to your success.

You will also collaborate closely with maintenance and operations teams, using your ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills to support safe and efficient plant operations.

About the role

- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including piping systems and valves across the battery recycling plant.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment issues and prevent unplanned downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable and efficient operation of plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults efficiently to minimise production disruptions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance work.




- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with site procedures.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure full compliance with all site safety procedures and regulations.

About the candidate

- Hold a relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or engineering with full Australian working rights.
- Bring 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical fitting within industrial or processing environments.
- Demonstrate experience in chemical processing or hydrometallurgical plants, with a strong understanding of complex processing systems.
- Possess practical skills in welding plastic pipe and fittings, essential for maintaining specialised plant infrastructure.
- Hold a current forklift ticket, enabling safe and efficient materials handling across the facility.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities with proven diagnostic skills to troubleshoot mechanical faults efficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals with accuracy and confidence.
- Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment in a maintenance context.
- Show excellent communication and teamwork abilities, collaborating effectively with maintenance and operations teams.
- Work independently whilst managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation, ensuring compliance with maintenance protocols and safety standards.
