Applications Close: Monday 3 August 2026 MNCLHD is seeking to fill two Surgical Fellow positions for the 2027 clinical year. One position is available at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and the other at Coffs Harbour Health Campus. What you'll be doing Reporting to the Director of Surgery, the Staff Specialist in
General Surgery will provide clinical care, perform a full range of general surgical procedures, take part in the consultant on call roster, and contribute to the department's education and training activities. There may also be the requirement to provide support at other sites within MNCLHD. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Acute Surgical Unit to deliver comprehensive clinical care.
- Perform a wide range of general emergency surgeries.
- Manage and run outpatient clinics.
- Participate in the consultant on-call roster.
- Assist in the education and administrative roles within the department.
- GESA accreditation required.
Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa). This is a Category A position. Recommended applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directive for Category A positions prior to offer.
