Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Nurse Unit Manager – Theatre to join a well‑established private acute hospital in Melbourne.
This newly created leadership role will be responsible for the effective operational management of the operating theatre department, providing solid clinical leadership and supporting the delivery of high‑quality perioperative care. Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, the successful candidate will lead either the Scrub or Anaesthetics specialty team and oversee the day‑to‑day management of theatre operations.
You will play a key role in workforce management, staff development, quality improvement, and maintaining excellence in clinical standards. Working collaboratively with Cath Lab, PACU, Day Surgery and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient theatre performance.

About You
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Previous senior perioperative nursing leadership or management experience
- Strong experience within operating theatres, preferably in Scrub or Anaesthetics
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support nursing teams
- Experience managing workforce requirements, labour hours, agency utilisation and performance indicators
- Strong understanding of ACORN Standards, ANZCA guidelines and ACHS National Standards
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and decision‑making skills
- Proven ability to drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence
- Full Australian working rights required
