This is a permanent, full-time position.

This position is based in Gascoyne Junction Work Centre, Kennedy Range (Mundatharrda) National Park, Bimbee National Park, One Tree Point (Jigabiddi) Nature Reserve, Chinaman’s Pool (Beerideegoorah) Nature Reserve.

The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for developing, organising and implementing works programs, projects and activities across the Gascoyne Junction work centre, Kennedy Range (Mundatharrda) National Park, Bimbee National Park, One Tree Point (Jigabiddi) Nature Reserve, Chinaman’s Pool (Beerideegoorah) Nature Reserve and facilitating Rangers and Yinggarda Aboriginal Ranger Assistants in park management.
- Ensure programs, projects and activities are developed in consultation with District Parks and Visitor Services, Conservation and Joint Management leadership teams.
- Supervise work centre staff and contractors, organising and mentoring Rangers and Aboriginal Ranger Assistants with a focus on the Gascoyne Junction work centre, Kennedy Range (Mundatharrda) National Park, Bimbee National Park,



One Tree Point (Jigabiddi) Nature Reserve, Chinaman’s Pool (Beerideegoorah) Nature Reserve.

Selection Criteria

- Experience in leading, supervising and managing teams, empowering individuals to work with confidence, encouraging a strong teamwork culture and working independently to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities within a harmonious work workplace.
- Evidence of well‑developed oral and interpersonal skills and experience in building and maintaining networks; liaising with the public, commercial tourism operators, community groups, special interest groups (including indigenous groups) and other stakeholders; and in patrol and enforcement procedures.
- Ability and willingness to work with traditional owners to deliver native title aspirations and goals through Joint Management, cooperation or collaborative arrangements.
- Experience and knowledge of implementing operational plans and works programs including budget management, associated with visitor management and natural resource management, having regard to the threatening processes affecting native flora and fauna and experience with infrastructure development and maintenance.

Pre‑Requirements

- A current Working with Children Check.
- A current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check.
- A current Western Australian "C" class drivers licence.

Eligibility

It is essential to have Australian citizenship, New Zealand citizenship, Australian permanent residency status or a valid working visa to be appointed to this role.
