EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.

About the Opportunity

EnergyCo are seeking two Community and Stakeholder Officers to support the delivery of major renewable energy and infrastructure projects across NSW.

These roles assist with community engagement activities, stakeholder communications, event coordination, information sessions and engagement reporting, helping ensure communities and stakeholders are informed, supported and actively engaged throughout project delivery.

Our current vacancies are based for the below projects and EnergyCo office locations:

- Hunter Transmission Project - Project resources | EnergyCo – Newcastle or Sydney
1 x Temporary full time up to 4 years
- New England Renewable Energy Zone | EnergyCo – Armidale, Newcastle or Sydney
1 x Temporary full time up to 4 years

About You

You are passionate about working with communities, listening to stakeholder perspectives and building respectful, productive relationships that support successful engagement outcomes.




We are looking for motivated junior engagement or communications professionals with robust writing and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work confidently in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve and collaboration is key. You will be a capable all-rounder who can prepare clear communications, coordinate engagement activities, maintain stakeholder records and support a range of engagement initiatives.
You will enjoy writing, working with people and be comfortable representing projects at community events, information sessions and stakeholder meetings. Experience in communications, community engagement, stakeholder relations or project support is desirable, with infrastructure, energy or government experience viewed favourably.

Essential Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, community engagement and/or equivalent experience.
- Capacity and willingness to travel to regional locations, and to work outside of core business hours.
- Current Australian Drivers licence (Class C minimum).

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy. EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW). EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
