About Glenelg Day Surgery
Established for over 25 years, Glenelg Day Surgery has provided a consistently high level of care to patients both within the local community and wider Adelaide area, to be cared for by our highly skilled and friendly team of healthcare professionals.

Glenelg Day Surgery offers multiple surgical services, including Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Skin cancer Surgery, Ophthalmology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Vascular and Assisted Reproductive Procedures.

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse role - Ophthalmology & Oral Surgery to our leadership team.
We are looking for a vibrant, engaging, dedicated and highly motivated nurse with a strong clinical background.
The position will give leadership and direction to the nursing team and report directly to the CEO/ Director of Nursing. Hands-on clinical involvement is a key component of this position with a focus on quality and safety integrated within the responsibilities.
The Role:
- Supports the CEO/ Director of Nursing to ensure the smooth running of the facility on a day-to-day basis.
- Provides clinical support for peri-operative staff
- Liaises with and is the first point of call for all theatre matters with surgeons to ensure a high level of service delivery.
- Manages the theatre team and provides support, education, and a positive role model for all members of the team
- Understands and supports the indicators that are used in measuring the performance of the perioperative team.
- Adheres to and promotes the employee Code of Conduct and Facility Policies
- Plans and implements strategies that will benefit the facility as a whole
- Participates in all management meetings, strategic planning and other committees as required
- Contributes to the development of policies, procedures, and programs
- Actively supports decisions made by the Director of Nursing
This role will be actively supporting the CEO/ DoN with all quality activities as well as assisting with and supporting the business development and growth. This is a hands-on role with a robust leadership focus. The day-to-day coordination of clinical services on the floor will be complimented by non-clinical time including auditing, rostering, and business growth activities.
The ideal candidate will work hard to uphold the friendly and positive culture we have as well as support the growth and learning of our nursing staff.
This is a permanent part-time position and will suit someone with flexibility of workdays to work in conjunction with the management team.
To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:
- Current relevant AHPRA Registration.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate nursing experience predominately worked in the perioperative environment.
- Evidence of significant clinical experience within the ophthalmology and oral surgery areas
- Working knowledge of and adherence to the NSQHS Standards.
- Sound clinical leadership skills in promoting and ensuring safe patient care.
- Knowledge of the regulation of health care professionals.
- Understanding of contemporary clinical practice.
- Undertakes professional self-development as per AHPRA Requirements
