Your current company Hays are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the strategy, design and construction of facilities and infrastructure on a $12B defence project in Henderson, WA for the ASC. Australia’s submarine company (ASC) built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustained them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives, the largest industrial and complex project in Australian history. Reporting to the Head of Programme Delivery, your role as Senior Project Manager of infrastructure & Facilities will be to oversee the design of the most complex industrial developments in Australian history, working with architects and engineers to ensure development from foundation to mature stage.
Manage the end-to-end process for facilities and infrastructure development from foundation to mature stage, i.e. Development of CONOPS, Functional Requirements, Design Assurance and Build Assurance activities. Manage internal and external stakeholder interfaces.
Represent ASC at scope definition, design review and progress reviews. Lead a team consisting of an infrastructure manager, equipment manager, facilities manager, architects, configuration managers & project managers. Managing stakeholders licensing & Safety.

https://www.agsva.gov.au/Your new role What you'll need to succeed - Tertiary qualifications in a civil engineering or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a systems engineering, naval construction or complex asset management / development environment.
- 7+ years as a project manager working on complex engineering projects from design to completion.
- Experience in industrial development is an advantage.
- Experience as a project manager overseeing design of heavy engineering or defence infrastructure or facilities is essential (minimum 7+ years).
- Ability to manage multiple projects $50-150M in value at high levels of complexity.
- Proven ability to project manage complex infrastructure within ports, defence, marine, navy or similar is essential.
- Experience working with external stakeholders and structured reporting frameworks. Please note that this role requires a security clearance.
