This is a new role which will:

- Undertake the operational management of the Ipswich Nature Centre and Queens Park Environmental Education Centre facilities leading a passionate, multidisciplinary team of environmental educationrs, animal care professionals, volunteers and operational staff
- Drive exciting transformational projects
- Have a direct and meaningful impact on our community by inspiring environmental awareness, sustainability and conservation through innovative education, engagement and community programs
- Be a part of growth and change with the opportunity to influence strategi direction, operational improvements and future development

About The Role

The Team Leader (Nature Centre and Environmental Education) will provide leadership across environmental education, community engagement, business operations and service improvement, supporting a diverse team to deliver high-quality visitor experiences, environmental outcomes and community programs while driving the continued growth and transformation of these valued community assets.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Manage business operations and planning, facility management, budgets, contracts, assets and resources to deliver sustainable outcomes.
- Oversee animal welfare, husbandry and compliance with relevant legislation, standards and licensing requirements.
- Drive environmental education, community engagement and visitor experience programs.
- Lead strategic projects, service improvements and stakeholder partnerships that enhance community outcomes.
- Develop and support staff and volunteers while ensuring strong safety, risk management and regulatory compliance.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Relevant qualifications in Education, Communications,



Environmental Science or a related field.
- Experience in environmental education, community engagement, operations and/or portfolio management.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and support high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and change management capabilities in a dynamic setting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and people-focused approach.
- A passion for environmental education, community outcomes and fostering a positive, inclusive and safety-focused workplace culture.
- Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary commencing at $126,481 plus 12.5% superannuation.
