The Willoughby Hotel is looking for a Commis Chef to join our team. This is a outstanding opportunity for someone with some kitchen experience who wants to keep learning, build confidence across all sections and work alongside experienced chefs who genuinely enjoy developing their team.
You’ll be part of a busy community venue with a strong food offering, supportive leadership and the backing of one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with food preparation and service across multiple sections
- Learning and developing your skills in a fast‑paced commercial kitchen
- Maintaining food quality, presentation and consistency
- Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Supporting stock rotation, storage and kitchen organisation
- Working closely with senior chefs and the wider kitchen team
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality
- A willingness to learn and take on feedback
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
- Availability across nights, weekends and public holidays
You’ll Stand Out If You Have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or currently studying)
- Experience working across grill, fryer, pans or prep sections
