Our client is an industrial manufacturer seeking a Cost Accountant who can start immediately with a potential for extension and permanent.

About the role
The Cost Accountant role would start off as a 3-month contract with potential for extension or permanent, based full time at their head office in Bayswater. The role reports into The CFO and is responsible for:

- Maintaining accurate product costs
- Assisting in the preparation of annual product budgets
- Providing pricing and costing analysis to support business opportunities and decisions
- Ensuring the master database is kept up to date and accurate
- Providing accurate reports and reconciliations for a number of different areas of the business
- Calculating customer rebates and accruals and price amendments




- Maintaining process and procedure documentation relating to the role

About you

- Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or similar
- Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
- Experience in costing products in a manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail
- High critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology
- Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
