The Corporate Communications lead is a senior communications role that plays a crucial role at the centre of the NSW Electoral Commission’s most significant public and internal communications.

Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you will lead the planning, drafting, approval and delivery of major corporate reports, communications and insight programs that support transparency, accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts throughout the organisation to produce engaging communications that are authoritative, helpful and clear and align with our strategy and brand.

This role requires a collaborative mindset, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. The role is an ongoing full-time position. The NSW Electoral Commission offers a hybrid working model with a minimum expectation of two days per week in-person in our Sydney office.

Key knowledge, experience and essential requirements

As the successful candidate, you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience in report writing, internal and strategic communications within government, regulatory or complex stakeholder environments.
- Extensive track record working in a corporate communications function with demonstrable capability dealing with multiple internal and external stakeholders including senior executives, subject matter experts, designers, researchers and external suppliers.
- Demonstrable professional experience leading the end-to-end development and delivery of annual reports and other major corporate publications ensuring consistency of messaging. This includes ensuring content accuracy,



adherence to timelines, accessibility and compliance with corporate branding, editorial style guides, tone of voice guidelines and legislative requirements.
- Design and deliver internal communications that build awareness, understanding and engagement and support a positive improvement-focused organisational culture.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment with dynamic and ongoing legislative changes.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating complex legal or similar content in a clear, compelling and engaging manner (using infographics where appropriate) suitable for a range of audiences and channels.
- Experience leading research programs used for benchmarking and organisational improvement.
- Significant experience in the management, coordination and preparation of briefings, submissions and other information requests dealing with complex and sensitive matters.
- Familiarity with the IAP2 spectrum of public participation for community engagement.
- Experience building and maintaining positive and productive relationships.
- Politically neutral with no current or past affiliation to political parties or lobbyists/campaigners.
- Satisfactory criminal record check result.
