The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and sales-driven Retail Store Manager to take ownership of our fast-paced storefront.

Because the vast majority of our trade is takeaway and grab-and-go, this role is heavily focused on retail store management. Your primary objectives will be maximizing retail sales, optimizing front-counter customer throughput, managing takeaway packaging and stock inventory, and leading our retail customer service team. You will focus on store profitability, inventory rotation, and POS efficiency rather than traditional restaurant or table service operations.

Key Responsibilities

· Retail & Takeaway Operations: Direct the daily operations of the retail storefront, ensuring high-speed POS transactions, seamless takeaway order fulfillment, and optimal customer flow during peak periods.

· Merchandising & Presentation: Ensure front-counter displays, grab-and-go fridges, and digital retail menus are visually appealing, fully stocked, and compliant with brand standards.

· Stock & Inventory Control: Maintain strict inventory management for retail goods, beverages, takeaway packaging,



and front-of-house consumables. Coordinate with suppliers to minimize waste and ensure high product availability.

· Sales & Promotions: Drive retail sales growth by setting targets, executing in-store promotions, upselling retail items, and actively expanding membership in the Butterleaf Rewards program.

· Retail Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage front-of-house retail staff in point-of-sale (POS) operations, customer engagement, and fast-paced counter service techniques.

· Financial & POS Management: Monitor daily retail sales performance, handle POS reconciliation (Square), and manage the retail front-of-house labor budget.

· Compliance & Safety: Ensure the retail and customer-facing spaces comply strictly with workplace health and safety (WHS) and retail food handling standards.

About You

· 2+ years of proven experience in Retail Store Management (experience in high-volume food retail, takeaway outlets, quick-service retail, or gourmet supermarkets is highly preferred).

· Strong background in retail inventory control, stock turnover, and POS metrics.

· Proven ability to manage high-volume customer flow and direct retail staff in a fast-paced environment.

· A passion for health, nutrition, and delivering exceptional, fast-paced customer service.
