We work with those experiencing or at risk of a range of vulnerabilities, providing culturally responsive support and linking them with specialist services. About the Role

KARI is hiring a Safe and Solid Families Caseworkers on a fixed-term contract until 28 February 2027. You'll play a key role in providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support to families experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence. Your work will focus on early intervention, family connection,



and improving the safety and wellbeing of children and their caregivers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

- Deliver case management in line with the Safe and Strong Families Service Delivery Schedule

- Conduct risk and needs assessments, and create action plans with families

- Facilitate programs that strengthen safety and family relationships

- Liaise with Indigenous organisations, government agencies, and service providers

- Ensure compliance with Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) reporting

- Participate in budget planning, supervision, and team meetings

- Advocate for the needs of Aboriginal families in sector settings

Requirements

- Aboriginality

- National Criminal Record Check

- Valid NSW Working with Children Check (Paid Worker)

- NSW Driver’s Licence (minimum P2 or equivalent)

Skills and Experience

- Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, or related field or equivalent lived experience

- Experience supporting families affected by domestic and family violence

- Strong case management skills, including safety planning and risk mitigation

- High emotional intelligence and professional boundaries

- Cultural understanding of the needs and strengths of Aboriginal families

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping
