We are hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer to support one of our global technology clients in Australia. This role will focus on designing, building, and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision‑making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Work with business and technical stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements for BI and reporting solutions.
Translate business needs into scalable, high‑performing BI solution designs.
Design, build, and optimise data and semantic models to support enterprise analytics.
Validate data accuracy and integrity through structured testing and reconciliation.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for BI and reporting assets.
Create and maintain technical and business documentation for data products and reports.
Train and support business users to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across technology, data, and business units.
Provide expertise in metrics definition, reporting standards, and data quality improvements.
Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for the Payments team,
ensuring alignment with branding standards and enterprise data platforms.
Integrate BI solutions with Oracle databases, Microsoft Fabric OneLake, and data warehouse settings.
Robust experience designing scalable data models and semantic layers in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric (star schemas, relationships, calculation groups, and optimisation).
Hands‑on experience with Fabric OneLake or similar cloud data platforms.
Advanced expertise across the Power BI stack: Power BI Desktop, Power Query (M), DAX, Tabular Editor, Power BI Service, Power Pivot, and AML Toolkit.
Strong SQL skills for data manipulation, validation, and transformation; experience with BigQuery is an advantage.
Good understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and dimensional modelling.
Experience building dashboards from SQL and non‑SQL sources (APIs, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics).
Knowledge of payments systems such as SWIFT and FGPP is desirable.
Experience documenting data products and managing change impacts.
Robust communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
