Your current role

As part of the continued growth of our national Water Business Group, the Asset Management and Planning team is seeking experienced Planning Engineers with wastewater expertise to contribute to delivering and expanding our national sewer planning program. The program spans model development and calibration, network master planning, and detailed planning. This role is based in Melbourne or Brisbane and involves collaborating with Principal Engineers to implement WSP’s sewer planning program.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Principal Engineers to implement the sewer planning program, including:
Supporting our network calibration program as part of an experienced modelling team.
Conducting technical assessments of sewerage networks to address performance, growth, compliance, and renewals.
Delivering strategic and master planning, options assessments, feasibility investigations, and detailed planning projects.




Preparing business cases that meet regulatory requirements for prudency and efficiency.
Supporting asset management and strategy development functions.
Collaborating with key clients across Australia to deliver future-ready solutions.

About you

Joining our team at Planning Engineer or Senior Planning Engineer, you will bring:
Proven experience in water engineering, ideally with a consultancy background.
A recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent); Chartered status (CPENG) is highly desirable.
Expertise in planning sewerage networks, understanding operations, and identifying risks.
Robust skills in hydraulic principles, including hydraulic modelling and sewer network calibration.
Ability to process large datasets, including meteorological and SCADA data.
Proficiency in GIS, Excel, and analytics tools for data assessment.
