Talent Register - Project Officer - Bunbury Redevelopment

We are establishing a TalentRegister for experienced and motivated professionals interested in joining our team as Project Officers on either a fixed-term or casual basis.
This register provides an opportunity to contribute to complex commissioning, transition, and service delivery projects across a range of clinical and operational environments.
About the role: Project Officers will support key project streams across infrastructure, clinical services, workforce, and organizational change.
You will contribute to planning, coordination, and delivery activities to ensure successful project outcomes within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Delivery Interface and Integration
Construction to handover skills.
Disruptive works and additional site process, inclusive of risk and business continuity management.
Clinical (Service Planning and Governance) Service Planning
Developing and finalising models of care.
Patient flows and operational workflows.
Bed capacity and demand modelling support aligned to the Clinical Services Framework.
Clinical Governance, Safety and Quality
Clinical governance structures, policies and escalation pathways for new and changed services.
National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, WA Health mandatory policies and accreditation requirements.
Workforce and Change
Project workforce planning
Coordinating industrial relations requirements, classification reviews, position descriptions and organisational structure changes.
Managing training needs analysis, orientation programs and competency requirements for new environments and equipment; and
Ensuring compliance with WHS obligations across all transition activities, including risk assessments for moves, manual handling and new work environments.
Change Management
Change management planning, including stakeholder analysis, impact assessments and engagement strategies.
Coordinating internal communications, staff engagement activities and change readiness assessments.
Supporting staff, reducing disruption,
strengthening readiness and helping the organization adopt current ways of working; and
Monitoring change adoption and embedding sustainability measures to support post‐transition stabilisation.
Infrastructure
Asset management activities including facilities management systems, planned maintenance schedules and asset registers for new and refurbished areas.
Managing ICT deployment including WAN, passive and active communications infrastructure, IP addressing, VLAN segmentation, end‐user device commissioning and information systems configuration.
Supporting the commissioning of medical equipment, clinical technology and digital health platforms; and
Ensuring infrastructure readiness evidence.
Corporate
Affordability, sustainability and cost drivers for new and expanded clinical services.
Supporting financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and alignment with commissioning and steady‐state operations.
Contractual and procurement planning and management; and
Accommodation
Commissioning and Transition Experience:
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience project experience and support to commissioning and transition activities across:
Main Entry
Emergency Department (including Short Stay Unit)
Acute Psychiatric Unit (including authorisation processes)
Clinical Tower (Theatres, CSSD, ICU, Maternity, Medical)
Back of House services
Teaching, Training and Research facilities
Helipad operations
Bunbury Hospital Redevelopment Project is Western Australia's biggest ever regional hospital upgrade.
Once complete, it will be a modern community healthcare hub for the Southwest region.
The redevelopment project will deliver:
Construction of a new seven‐storey clinical tower and helideck
Dedicated new mental health observation unit
An expanded acute psychiatric unit
A significantly expanded emergency department
Additional operating theatres and a new central sterilisation department
New and expanded maternity, birthing, and neonatal services
Increased inpatient ward capacity
WA's first regional healthcare training, education, and research centre
The project also includes expansion and refurbishment of main entry plus additional short‐term parking.
Construction of the tower and main works is expected to be completed in early‐****, with operational commissioning complete in mid‐****.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed‐term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
