Job Details
Financial Counsellor
Permanent Part-Time 0.8 FTE
Location: South Australia (office location negotiable)
Schedule: Rostered basis
Responsibilities
Provide financial counselling and support through inbound National Debt Helpline calls, online chat and in-person appointments.
Develop collaborative case plans that build financial capability, resilience and wellbeing.
Undertake holistic assessments to understand each person's circumstances, needs and goals.
Advocate for community members with creditors, service providers and external agencies.
Support access to services and strengthen community connections.
Maintain accurate records in SAMIS and meet reporting requirements.
Identify risks and service gaps and escalatin appropriately.
Participate in professional development and reflective practice.
Contribute to financial capability education where appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Diploma of Financial Counselling.
Eligibility for SCHADS Level 4 (working toward accreditation) or Level 5 (accredited).
Experience in social services, community engagement or financial hardship support.
Understanding of the drivers of financial hardship and financial exclusion.
Strong communication skills across phone, online chat and in-person settings.




Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
