We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced
Grade 2 Physiotherapist
to join our
Inpatient Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team at Epworth Richmond
on a part-time basis (
0.4 EFT, 2 days per week
). This position is required to work
Thursdays and Fridays
to support service delivery within our inpatient orthopaedic program.
In this role, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy services to orthopaedic inpatients, including post-operative elective orthopaedic, individuals with musculoskeletal conditions and patients requiring reconditioning, supporting their recovery and return to independence.
Working within a highly regarded multidisciplinary team, you will play an integral role in optimising patient outcomes, facilitating secure discharge planning and delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
This position also offers the opportunity to mentor and supervise junior physiotherapists and students, while contributing to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives.
As a valued member of our Physiotherapy Department, you will bring strong clinical expertise, sound judgement and a commitment to excellence in care. You will make a meaningful difference to patients by promoting mobility, restoring function and supporting recovery throughout their inpatient journey.

How You'll Make a Difference
Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients following orthopaedic surgery and injury
Facilitate early mobilisation and functional recovery to achieve the best possible patient outcomes
Work collaboratively with surgeons, nursing staff and allied health colleagues to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
Support patients and their families through education and discharge planning to ensure a safe transition home
Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, continuous improvement and patient-centred care
Provide supervision, support and mentoring to junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy students as appropriate
To be successful in this role, you will have
Recent experience in the area of orthopaedic physiotherapy
Strong assessment, treatment and discharge-planning skills
Excellent clinical reasoning and the ability to manage a varied inpatient caseload
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork
A commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development and delivering exceptional patient care

Qualifications
Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)



or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council
Current physiotherapy registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
