About the role
The Finance Team are currently seeking self-motivated and skilled individual to join our Financial Services & Rates business unit in an Accounting Officer - Accounts Payable position.
This position requires someone that is highly organised, and a positive communicator with a skill set that enables responses to financial inquiries.
It requires a high degree of confidentiality and in-depth knowledge of the business processes within Financial Services and Rates and across the organisation.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
Maintain the City of Swan's Accounts Payable process.
Provide an administrative and accounting service for expenditure functions in accordance with the requirements of the section.
Assist in the review and re-engineering of existing business processes and in the development of new processes, as well as assist in the analysis of and reporting on business performance.
Responsible for Councillor's payment reconciliation using Project ledger.
Provide support to City staff on queries related to payment of invoices, purchase orders and supplier registrations.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
Certificate IV or Basic accounting (TAFE or equivalent)
1-2 years experience as a finance officer
Ability to apply general accounting concepts
Create and use financial and statistical data
Basic understanding of Australian Taxation, including GST, PAYG and FBT
A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.
The salary
for this position will be from $72,****** to $87,****** per annum depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
