The role
Teachers in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) team focus on creating outstanding outcomes for students and empowering every learner. We are a collaborative, supportive, close‐knit team. Our practice is data‐driven to ensure continuous improvement.
Successful applicants should strive for excellence in Health, Physical and Outdoor Education teaching and demonstrate a desire to deliver a range of courses across Year 7‐12. Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, fitness qualifications and/or outdoor education qualifications are highly regarded. The HPE learning area leads a range of whole‐school extracurricular opportunities for students, which the successful applicant will collaborate with team members to facilitate. We aim to empower young people from diverse backgrounds so all students can be successful. High‐quality relationships and collaborative practice are key assets to our team's success. The applicant will ideally display an ongoing willingness to learn from and share experience with other team members.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland SHS in **** are eligible to receive the Attraction and Retention Incentive of $***** (pa, gross – adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff receive a portion of this payment on commencement with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed until the end of the school year to receive the second payment.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3‐year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‐year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return or transfer permanently to this school.
Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
