McDonald's Australia is looking for a Senior Manager, External Communications on a 14 month contract to help shape and protect the reputation of a brand that serves around 2 million customers every day.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Impact & Corporate Relations, you'll lead our external communications strategy, manage media and reputation risks, and tell the stories that showcase our positive impact in communities across the country.
This is a senior leadership role with real influence, advising senior leaders, leading agency partners,



acting as a media spokesperson and developing an emerging communications talent along the way.What you can expect on a day-to-day basis:Developing and delivering external communications strategies aligned to business objectivesProtecting and enhancing our reputation through proactive storytelling and sharp issues and crisis managementActing as a media spokesperson and lead media engagement on our behalfManaging PR agency partners across strategy, scope, budget and performancePartnering with internal teams to uncover compelling corporate, business and impact storiesProviding strategic communications counsel to senior leadersBuilding lasting relationships with journalists, content creators and stakeholdersSupporting franchisees with local media and issues managementLeading and developing our Brand Communications SpecialistYour keys to success:Proven experience across the Australian media landscape (business, consumer and trade)A strong record of securing coverage for consumer, corporate and reputation-led storiesExperience advising senior leaders and leading communications through complex, high-risk issuesExceptional writing, editing and key-message skillsConfidence operating independently in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environmentStrong project management, stakeholder influencing and agency management skillsA collaborative, ethical and solutions-focused mindsetRelish in the Macca's difference when you join the Golden Arches:Flexible Work Environment.
