Senior Marketing Manager | BioScout (AgTech) | $130k to $150k Base + Bonus + ESOP | Hybrid, SydneyBuild the marketing engine behind a new way of protecting the world's crops.
First dedicated hire.
Product that works.
Room to own it end to end.The company right nowBioScout is an AgTech company that has built world-first sensor technology for detecting airborne crop disease.
The sensors sit in the field, a lab in the field, and give farmers real-time data on what's coming, with up to three months' notice on pathogen threats, so they can map, prevent, and manage outbreaks before yield is lost.
The result is better crops, less chemical use, and lower spend.
The technology is patent-protected and, by BioScout's account, the first of its kind. The model combines SaaS and hardware-as-a-service, backed by extensive AI disease models.
BioScout has product-market fit, strong customer retention, and a live pipeline of qualified opportunities across Australia, Recent Zealand, and Europe.
This is not a build-from-nothing story.
It's a scale-what's-working story, and ANZ is at the centre of it.What is missing is a marketing function to help more of the right growers understand what BioScout does and why it matters.
That is the role.
This is the first dedicated marketing hire, and a pivotal one.Why this roleBase of $130k to $160k depending on experience, plus a bonus incentive structureEmployee Share Option Plan, so you own a stake in what you buildFirst marketing hire at a growing company, not a seat in a crowded teamHybrid working from the Sydney office, three days a week on siteA mission-driven team of scientists, agronomists, and engineers who care about the work and each otherWhat you'll actually doOwn the events strategy and calendar,

from choosing the right conferences and field days to securing presence and making sure every event creates real opportunitiesBuild sales enablement materials, internal and external: case studies, one-pagers, pitch decks, and collateral that helps the team and partners sell with confidenceDesign and run email and lifecycle marketing across a long education cycle: nurture campaigns, lead magnet follow-through, and pipeline supportOwn positioning for a complex, technical product, turning it into language that lands with a non-technical buying committeeOwn brand identity globally: set the guidelines, hold the line across every touchpoint, and manage agencies and creative partnersAdapt messaging across markets, with ANZ as the primary focus and Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the UK) as key growth marketsUse AI tools as a natural part of your workflow to ship across channels at genuine qualityKeep social consistent and on-brand with a part-time team member, and manage and develop the part-time marketing internFeed market signal back to sales and product to sharpen how BioScout positions and sellsWho this suitsYou don't need a big team or an agency behind you.
What matters is that you have built things yourself, in a lean environment, and shipped quality work without waiting for perfect conditions.A strategic thinker with no ego about doing the work: you set direction, then execute it yourself with AI and smart toolsReal depth in B2B demand generation and events-led growth,

not paid socialComfortable owning two or three channels at a genuine level rather than specialising in oneStrong writer who can make a complex product simple for different audiencesSomeone who understands considered, high-value buying, where the customer is educated and won over timeSteady in the reality of a scaling startup, where systems are not always in place and priorities shift with the seasonsExperience marketing a physical or hardware-plus-software product is a real advantage over pure SaaS or agency backgrounds.
A background in agriculture or AgTech helps, and awareness of European markets, and ideally LATAM, is a bonus.
None of these are essential.
Builder's mindset matters more. This is not the fit if your experience sits only in large corporate or only in agency settings, if you depend on retainers or a full in-house team to execute, or if you are a single-channel specialist who does not want to broaden. What success looks likeFirst 90 days: you know the product, the growers, and the buying committee, and the events calendar for the next two quarters is setSix months: sales has the materials it needs to sell with confidence, and nurture campaigns are moving prospects through the education cycleTwelve months: BioScout has a clear, repeatable marketing motion feeding pipeline across ANZ, with messaging adapted for European growthWhy this opportunity is differentMost first marketing hires inherit a mess or a mandate with no room to move.
This is neither.
You get a product with proven traction, customers who stay, funding behind you, and a genuine blank page to build the function your way.It is a build role in the truest sense.
If you have wanted to own marketing end to end at a company that is past the risky early stage but still small enough for your work to define how it shows up in the market, this is that moment.Open to a four-day week, pro-rated, for the right person.
