About The Role

At Bentleys Queensland, we work closely with privately owned businesses, family enterprises, and individuals who value authentic guidance. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in helping them make smart, strategic decisions while growing your own leadership capability along the way.

You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, becoming the person they turn to for explicit, practical advice on everything from business operations and compliance to restructures, succession planning, and growth strategies. You’ll dive into financial modelling, support clients through acquisitions and asset sales, and help them navigate complex tax matters with confidence.

Day to day, you’ll also take a guiding role within the team—reviewing work, mentoring junior accountants, and creating an environment that supports learning and high performance. You’ll collaborate closely with Managers and Partners to keep workflows running smoothly, ensure deadlines are met, and deliver work that reflects our reputation for quality.

you’ll still stay sharp on the technical side—preparing financial statements and tax returns across individuals, companies, trusts, and SMSFs, as well as assisting with FBT, payroll matters, and proactive tax planning. And because our clients’ needs evolve with the regulatory landscape, you’ll stay up to date with legislative changes to help them make the most of every opportunity.

About You

You enjoy solving problems, working closely with clients, and supporting the growth of those around you. You’re confident managing your own workflow and feel ready to step into a role with more autonomy and responsibility. You’ll bring a CA or CPA qualification (or be well on your way), along with three to five years of Business Services experience and ideally some mentoring exposure. You’re organised, comfortable managing projects, and committed to continuous learning. Most importantly, you communicate clearly and know how to build genuine relationships with clients, Managers, and Partners.
