Where you'll be working

Manning Mental Health Service delivers acute outpatient mental health care through our Care Coordination, Intake and Acute Care teams. We provide consultation, assessment, treatment and follow-up services to adults and their families across the Lower Mid North Coast community.

Our service supports consumers transitioning from hospital back into the community, offering medication monitoring, psychoeducation, relapse prevention planning, coordination of psychiatry reviews, and close collaboration with internal and external support services.

What you'll be doing

Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) is a specialist stream within public mental health services, providing care primarily to people aged 65 years and over, and from 50 years for Aboriginal people. OPMH services include multidisciplinary community-based care, outreach to hospital wards, and partnership services across community and residential aged care settings.

In this role, you will be supported through a comprehensive orientation program, ongoing in-service education, and opportunities to undertake relevant internal and external training. You will also receive clinical and operational support from the Service Manager and Clinical Coordinator.

About You

You will have experience, or a strong interest, in working with older people experiencing mental ill health or those at risk of developing mental health concerns. This community-based role involves providing assessment, intervention and consultation within clients? homes, community health settings, and Residential Aged Care Facilities.

Requirements

- Recognised and accredited tertiary qualification and registration (or eligibility for) with the relevant board via AHPRA, or eligibility for membership of the relevant association, in one of the following disciplines: social work, psychology, occupational therapy or nursing.

- This position is full time; however, part time arrangements will be considered.
