About The Role
Join the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine (DRSM), a leading specialist service providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to the ACT and surrounding region. The Respiratory Physiology Laboratory (RPL), accredited by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), delivers high-quality respiratory diagnostic and monitoring services for both adult and paediatric patients and is committed to excellence in patient care, innovation, education, and research.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Respiratory Scientist to become part of our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will perform a broad range of respiratory function assessments, including spirometry, lung volume measurements, gas transfer testing, bronchial provocation testing, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Working under the broad direction of the Senior Respiratory Scientist, you will independently undertake routine respiratory investigations and contribute to more complex assessments in accordance with established procedures, accreditation requirements, and skilled standards.
The successful applicant will be committed to professional excellence and lifelong learning,
with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team. You will contribute to the education and training of staff where appropriate, support the development and review of clinical guidelines and procedures, and participate in ongoing continuing professional development activities that strengthen the Respiratory Scientist workforce.
This position offers you to work in a dynamic clinical environment where you will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centred care. You will play an active role in maintaining and enhancing the quality and operational requirements of the respiratory physiology service, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to research, quality management, and change management projects that improve patient outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected service and make a meaningful contribution to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of respiratory conditions across the ACT and region while advancing your career within a supportive and progressive healthcare environment.
