A leading data, technology and insights organisation is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join its Risk & Compliance function. Operating within a highly regulated environment, the business is focused on maintaining strong governance practices while enabling innovation, growth and customer trust.
This is an prospect to work closely with senior stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Product and Operations, providing expert guidance on compliance obligations, strengthening risk frameworks and delivering practical, business-focused solutions.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will join an independent second line function responsible for providing oversight, assurance and compliance advisory services across the organisation.
The role will play a key part in identifying and managing compliance risks, supporting business stakeholders to navigate regulatory requirements, and promoting a strong culture of accountability and ethical decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert compliance advice and guidance to business stakeholders on regulatory obligations, emerging risks and internal policy requirements.
- Partner with business units to ensure products, processes and operational activities remain aligned with relevant legislation, regulatory expectations and internal standards.
- Design and execute compliance monitoring and assurance activities, including thematic reviews, compliance testing and control effectiveness assessments.
- Identify compliance risks, trends and control weaknesses, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and monitor remediation actions.
- Assess new and changing regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance and implementation plans.
- Conduct independent reviews of key compliance controls and provide recommendations to strengthen the overall control environment.
- Prepare insightful reporting and compliance updates for senior leadership teams, governance committees and regulatory stakeholders.
- Support the investigation and resolution of compliance incidents, regulatory enquiries and customer complaints, ensuring appropriate and timely outcomes.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of compliance frameworks, policies, procedures and governance practices.
- Build trusted relationships across the organisation to champion a proactive, commercially pragmatic and solutions‑focused approach to compliance.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in a Compliance, Risk, Regulatory Affairs or Governance role within a regulated workplace.
- Strong understanding of compliance risk management frameworks and the practical application of regulatory obligations.
- Experience conducting compliance monitoring, assurance reviews, control testing or related oversight activities.
- Ability to interpret legislation, regulatory guidance and industry standards, translating complex requirements into clear and actionable business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and build credibility across all levels of the business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports for senior management and governance forums.
- A collaborative mindset with a practical approach to balancing regulatory obligations and commercial outcomes.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
Highly Regarded
- Experience within financial services, credit, banking, insurance, fintech or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience managing compliance investigations, complaints or regulatory matters.
- Experience reviewing and developing policies, procedures and governance documentation.
- Relevant qualifications in Compliance, Risk Management, Law, Governance or a related discipline.
