Overview

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Residential Rehabilitation Intake Coordinator to effectively manage and support residential wait lists and bed allocation for The Salvation Army (TSA) residential rehabilitation programs in Victoria (Bendigo Bridge, Bridgehaven, and The Basin). The role reports to the Victorian Residential Rehabilitation Practice Coordinator and is a permanent, full-time position based in Preston, VIC, with salary and conditions in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

Responsibilities

- Respond to referrals in a flexible and timely manner.
- Ensure clients have safe transport arrangements, including negotiation and flexibility with service providers.
- Liaise with allied health and other health care professionals to obtain necessary medical and other healthcare records.
- Ensure that clients have exit and post-treatment plans in place.
- Attend weekly Clinical Assessment Team (CAST) meetings and present clients for admission discussion.
- Review the needs of all accepted participants in line with priority requirements and bed availability to ensure an adequate number of beds are allocated to maintain bed occupancy at all sites.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with client-centred treatment that aligns with AOD training and qualifications.
- Provide case management support to clients.
- Identify risks to clients, staff and TSA and bring them to the attention of the Program Development Manager as soon as possible.




- Identify service gaps and make recommendations for service delivery improvements to the Victorian Residential Rehabilitation Practice Coordinator.

Qualifications & Requirements

- A minimum diploma-level qualification in Community Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or a relevant field.
- A current Victoria Working with Children Check.
- A current Victoria driver’s license.
- Relevant experience in a social service environment, preferably AOD and/or mental health.
- Completion of, or willingness to complete, the AOD Skillset.
- All child-facing roles require the mandatory National Police Check.
