Full time Leadership Role

Sell In Style Property Styling is one of Brisbane’s leading property styling businesses, known for transforming homes into beautifully presented spaces that help agents, homeowners, developers, and builders achieve exceptional sales results.

As our business continues to grow across both Sell In Style and our high-end brand EVOCH , we are looking for a strong, highly organised, and people-focused Department Manager for our Staging Department .

This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the performance, quality, consistency, efficiency, and culture of the Staging Department. The successful person will lead a team of Project Manager Stylist, Senior Stylists, Lead Stylists, Stylists, Junior Stylists, and Stylist Assistants, ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard while supporting the company’s growth, client experience, and operational excellence.

About the Role

The Department Manager – Staging Department will oversee the day-to-day performance of the staging team, ensuring jobs are completed beautifully, efficiently, on time, and in line with SIS and EVOCH standards.

This role is not so much about creativity. It is about leadership, structure, communication, accountability, team development, and delivering consistent results across a fast-paced and high-volume staging environment.

You will work closely with the Creative Director, Sales & Service Department, Warehouse & Logistics Department, to ensure every installation, collection, selection, and client outcome is executed with clarity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, coach, and develop the Staging Department team.

Ensure all staging projects are completed to SIS and EVOCH quality standards.

Manage the daily, weekly, and monthly performance of the department.

Support Senior Stylists and Lead Stylists to deliver consistent project outcomes.

Ensure jobs are planned, prepared, installed, and collected efficiently.

Maintain strong communication between Staging, Sales & Service, Warehouse & Logistics, and Leadership.

Monitor team productivity, role clarity, accountability, and individual KPI performance.

Ensure styling selections are completed accurately, on time, and aligned with the brands brief.

Identify training needs and support ongoing team development.

Uphold company processes, standards, values, and “Rules of the Game”.

Address underperformance, communication gaps, and process issues quickly and professionally.

Support scheduling, labour planning, team allocation, and department capacity.

Ensure the staging team contributes positively to client satisfaction, repeat business, and brand reputation.

Drive continuous improvement across quality, speed, efficiency, systems,



and team culture.

About You

You are a confident, structured, and commercially minded leader who knows how to drive performance, create accountability, and lead a team toward clear company goals.

This role is not primarily about being the most experienced stylist or personally selecting every staging project. Instead, it is about leading the Staging Department as a high-performing business unit, ensuring the team delivers consistent quality, follows company policies and procedures, meets performance expectations, and contributes directly to the success of SIS and EVOCH.

You will be responsible for bringing clarity, structure, discipline, and alignment to the department. You understand how to set expectations, drive KPIs, monitor results, support team members, provide training where needed, and address performance issues in a fair, professional, and timely way.

You are highly organised, accountable, and outcome-focused. You can balance people leadership with operational execution, ensuring the department is productive, aligned with company standards, and consistently moving toward the company’s strategic goals.

Experience in property styling, interior design, or creative industries would be valuable, but it is not the primary requirement. We are especially interested in candidates with strong leadership experience from larger, structured, high-performance environments such as big-box retail, corporate operations, multi-site retail, logistics, hospitality, or other fast-paced businesses where KPIs, systems, standards, team training, and accountability are essential to success.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Proven experience leading, managing, and developing teams in a structured, fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership experience in big-box retail, corporate operations,



multi-site retail, logistics, hospitality, events, or another high-performance business environment.

Experience setting, managing, and driving KPIs across a team or department.

A strong understanding of accountability, performance management, and how to address underperformance professionally.

The ability to align a team with company goals, department targets, standards, policies, and procedures.

A proven ability to drive results through people, systems, training, structure, and clear communication.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand how department performance impacts the overall success of the business.

Experience improving team productivity, efficiency, quality standards, and consistency.

Confidence in creating structure, setting expectations, and ensuring team members follow through.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to give feedback, provide direction, and hold difficult conversations when required.

Experience training, coaching, supporting, and developing team members at different skill levels.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, projects, and people at once.

A calm, solutions-focused leadership style, especially under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high company standards.

Confidence working with other departments to solve problems, improve workflow, and deliver company-wide results.

The ability to lead a creative team while still maintaining solid operational control, structure, and accountability.

Experience in property styling, interior design, furniture, real estate, or visual merchandising would be advantageous, but is not essential.
