Gibson Austwide is seeking an experiencedLinehaul Loader / Forklift Operator to join our team at our Preston depot. This is a hands-on role within a small, dedicated team where your contribution is recognised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloadinglinehaul interstate trailers
- Loading and unloadinglocal delivery trucks
- Ensuring correctweight distribution for single and B-double trailers
- Settingmezzanine floors andstrapping freight securely
- Checking, weighing, and cubing freight into the depot
- Inspecting local, country, and interstate freight for outbound deliveries
- Maintaining aclean and tidy depot
- Conducting dailyforklift checks (oil, water, cleanliness)
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum2 years' experience in a similar role
- Proven experience withload maximisation and load restraint
- Strong understanding ofaxle weight capacities
- Goodgeographical knowledge (familiarity with suburbs, local and interstate destinations)
- Ability to work in afast-paced environment
About You:
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Able to work both independently and within a team
- Takes pride in safety and accuracy
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00am start - finish time varies (end of day)
- Every second Saturday: 4 hours (paid at overtime rates)
- Position is currently covering leave but is ongoing
- Will transition torotating start times (7:00am and 10:00am) when the regular forklift driver returns
