The Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high‑quality nursing support and ensure all patients that present to the Urgent Care Service are identified as being appropriate for the service, triaged promptly and provided with front‑line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner. Your Responsibilities

- Be the first point of contact for patients in urgent care – take charge of triaging each patient who walks through the door with accuracy, empathy and confidence.
- Conduct thorough, precise nursing triage – quickly assess patient needs and prioritise care to ensure the best outcomes.
- Act decisively in critical moments – identify and elevate emergencies or patient deterioration without hesitation.
- Utilise clinical skills – perform hands‑on procedural care such as suturing and plastering in a fast‑paced environment.
- Adapt in a dynamic setting – demonstrate flexibility in response to the unique challenges of urgent care.
- Deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care – collaborate closely with patients, families, carers and medical practitioners.
- Support patients in reaching health goals – guide them toward the best clinical outcomes with your knowledge and care.
- Educate patients – provide essential health information to empower decision‑making.
- Maintain meticulous documentation – complete patient records accurately and promptly.
- Champion health and safety – participate in safety initiatives, promptly report incidents or hazards.

About You





- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Available evenings and weekends.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to assess healthcare deterioration and appropriately escalated care.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and excellent attention to detail.
- Can work autonomously and delegate as appropriate.
- A passion for patient‑centred care and a personable approach.
- Required to provide a Working With Children’s check and a National Police check if not already obtained.
- Experience preferred:
- 3 years in an Emergency Department, or
- 3 years in triage, or
- 3 years in ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing.
