The Role
As Audit Director, you will provide strategic oversight, technical leadership, and people leadership within our Sydney External Audit practice, which services an overall audit fee base of approximately $3.0 million.
You will have direct accountability for audit quality, client outcomes, risk management, and team performance within your business unit.
You will:
- Act as a Registered Company Auditor and signing authority for Sydney statutory audits
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Sydney audit team of Managers, Seniors, and Auditors
- Own senior client relationships and deliver consistently high-quality audit outcomes
- Act as the escalation point for complex audit, accounting, and regulatory matters
- Drive audit quality, workflow effectiveness, and qualified standards across the business unit
- Contribute to firm strategy, business development, and technology-enabled audit delivery
This is a pure audit role — no tax, no business services.
What You’ll Bring
- Registered Company Auditor (RCA) — current ASIC registration (mandatory)
- CA or CPA qualification
- Demonstrated experience managing significant audit portfolios (ideally $1M+)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards
- Proven leadership capability — mentoring, performance management, and team development
- Confident, professional communicator with senior clients, Boards, and stakeholders
- Experience across corporate, NFP, and/or AFSL audits
- Exposure to Caseware, FYI or similar audit platforms
- Experience working with multi-office or offshore delivery models
- Interest in technology-enabled audit delivery
- Solid understanding and experience with AI
- Strategic leadership within your business unit
