The Role

Waratah is entering an exciting new chapter, building on established services and systems as we strengthen therapeutic leadership, connect practice across locations and invest in consistent, high-quality support. As Therapeutic Services Lead, you will join Waratah’s leadership team and be part of this transition from the outset, with genuine scope to shape how our services develop across the South West.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and based in Bunbury, you will lead adult, children’s and outreach counselling and Waratah’s Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) after-hours response. You will guide a skilled workforce, set service priorities, manage budgets, workloads, rosters and capacity, and ensure services remain protected, responsive and reliable across locations.





The heart of this role is people leadership. You will create a team environment where staff feel supported, heard and clear about what is expected; where reflective practice and accountability sit comfortably together; and where difficult issues are addressed early and respectfully. As a member of the leadership team, you will contribute to organisation-wide planning and continuous improvement, lead and participate in the SASS on-call roster, and strengthen service models within Waratah’s established clinical governance, intake, risk and safeguarding systems. Regular travel to Waratah’s service locations in Bunbury, Busselton, Collie, Margaret River and Manjimup is required.

About you

You are an experienced therapeutic leader who combines empathy with clarity, sound judgement and follow-through. You understand that strong services depend on both excellent practice and confident, accountable teams. You will bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience leading therapeutic services in family and domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, mental health or a comparable setting.
- Proven experience leading staff and services, including rosters, workloads, performance, service quality, client risk, budgets,



reporting and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills: able to build trust, coach and develop staff, navigate conflict, give clear feedback, hold boundaries and create a connected and accountable team culture.
- Experience developing and monitoring meaningful KPIs that support staff performance, service quality, capacity and accountability.
- Desirable: Experience leading a sexual assault crisis or after-hours response, and advanced therapeutic practice training.

A current unrestricted driver’s licence, required screening checks, capacity for regular travel across Waratah locations and participation in the SASS on-call roster are required.
