Clinical Neuropsychologist - Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service (CAHDS). The service supports children and adolescents with attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity challenges and works within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia.

Note: CAHDS will relocate to Fremantle in August. Applicants should take this into consideration when applying. This is a fixed term part time role at 0.6FTE for 12 months, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Casual contracts will also be considered.

About Our Team

The CAMHS in Western Australia provide support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years with mental health challenges. CAHDS is a statewide service for children and young people under 18 years with ongoing attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity difficulties. It works with individuals who have a confirmed ADHD diagnosis and are receiving treatment for related challenges. CAHDS provides comprehensive multidisciplinary assessments and delivers detailed assessment outcomes and management recommendations to support ongoing care; it does not provide ongoing treatment itself.

About the Role

Grade 1 Clinical Neuropsychologist Position Profile: As a Grade 1 Clinical Neuropsychologist, you will deliver high‑quality neuropsychological services within a multidisciplinary team, working under the supervision of a Clinical Neuropsychologist. The role focuses on assessment and management of children and adolescents with conditions affecting brain development, ensuring comprehensive clinical care, collaborative intervention planning, and engagement with families, schools, and referral agencies.

Key accountabilities (Grade 1):

- Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of cognitive, emotional, behavioural and developmental functioning using interviews, observations and standardized tools.
- Provide clear assessment feedback, evidence‑based recommendations, and interventions to clients, families, schools and referrers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to inform clinical decision‑making and coordinated care planning.
- Provide consultation on neuropsychological matters to colleagues and internal/external stakeholders.




- Engage in regular supervision and professional development toward endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Contribute to education, training and applied clinical research as required.
- Maintain accurate records, comply with guidelines for testing materials and government property, and participate in performance monitoring and improvement.
- Participate in intake, psychology, department and service meetings as required.

An appointee may progress to Grade 2 upon successful completion of a Board‑approved supervised period of practice and endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Grade 2 Clinical Neuropsychologist Position Profile: As a Grade 2 clinician, you will provide high‑quality specialist neuropsychological services within a multidisciplinary team to children and adolescents with brain development concerns. The role includes comprehensive assessment, consultation, education, and collaboration with families, schools, referrers and professionals to support clinical management and intervention planning. You will contribute to workforce development through supervision of registrars and trainees, while maintaining clinical governance and standards.

Key accountabilities (Grade 2):

- Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of cognitive, emotional, behavioural and developmental functioning using interviews, observations and standardised tools.
- Provide timely feedback, evidence‑based recommendations and interventions to individuals, families, schools and referrers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to inform clinical decision‑making and care planning.
- Provide specialist consultation and advice on neuropsychological matters to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Liaise with referrers and external agencies, including schools, regarding outcomes and ongoing case management.
- Deliver education and training on neuropsychological topics within and across disciplines.




- Provide supervision to registrars and supervise trainees toward endorsement as required.
- Participate in applied clinical and evaluative research activities.
- Maintain accurate client records and data in line with departmental requirements.
- Participate in intake, service, psychology and departmental meetings as required.
- Engage in ongoing performance development and supervision in consultation with the Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist Coordinator.
- Comply with guidelines for the use and maintenance of neuropsychological assessment tools and government property.
- Contribute to policy development, quality improvement and internal audit within CAHS.
