Our client is a well‑established and growing construction and maintenance business delivering projects across NSW. Operating across commercial, remedial and maintenance environments, they have built a strong reputation for quality delivery, long‑term client relationships and maintaining high operational and safety standards.

About The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated WHS professional to join a growing construction business in a standalone safety role with genuine ownership and impact. Reporting into leadership and working closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and subcontractors, you will be responsible for driving compliance, maintaining project safety records and promoting a proactive safety culture across all projects. The role combines both site‑based and office‑based responsibilities, with a strong focus on safety systems, documentation control, training, auditing and supporting operational teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations across active projects.
- Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements and internal procedures.
- Review and manage SWMS, risk assessments and project safety documentation.
- Support Project Managers and Supervisors with site‑specific safety planning and implementation.
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing WHS communication initiatives.




- Assist with incident investigations, reporting and preventative action management.
- Maintain incident registers, compliance records and audit documentation.
- Support internal, external and client audits including ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Manage document control processes across SharePoint and OneDrive, ensuring records remain accurate and audit‑ready.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance including licences, competencies and safety requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance across the business.

To Be Successful

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
- Construction White Card and current Driver’s Licence.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a WHS role within construction.
- Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation and construction safety requirements.
- Experience within commercial construction, remedial works, maintenance or refurbishment projects.
- Confidence delivering site inductions, toolbox talks and engaging operational teams.
- Robust administrative capability with experience managing compliance documentation.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Internal auditing experience or exposure highly regarded.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
