Summary

Our client is seeking to add an experienced Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to the Ecoplus Mechanical Services team in Sydney. With decades of industry experience, Ecoplus delivers reliable HVAC and refrigeration installation, maintenance and repair services across commercial and residential environments, including offices, hospitals, schools, data centres, airports, defence facilities, high-rise properties and marine applications.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Install, commission, service and repair residential, commercial and industrial airconditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and control faults using technical drawings, schematics and appropriate testing equipment.
- Service and maintain split, ducted, cassette, packaged and VRV/VRF airconditioning systems.
- Maintain, diagnose and repair chillers, central plant systems, fan coil units and chilled-water equipment.
- Service commercial refrigeration plant, including cool rooms, display cabinets and temperature-controlled equipment.
- Undertake preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and reactive breakdown repairs across Sydney customer sites.
- Install and replace compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, valves, switches,



gauges and control components.
- Measure, fabricate and install refrigerant pipework, drainage, ductwork and associated mechanical components.
- Complete brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, leak detection and refrigerant charging in accordance with regulations.
- Commission recent and repaired systems and undertake performance testing to confirm correct and efficient operation.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding, component testing and replacement within the authorised scope of the trade.
- Complete compressor replacements, equipment modifications, system upgrades and retrofits where required.
- Provide full lifecycle support across equipment installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair.
- Record faults, repairs, maintenance activities, refrigerant usage and commissioning results accurately.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and site representatives regarding faults and required works.
- Comply with workplace safety, environmental obligations and site-specific operating requirements.
- Work independently and collaboratively with technicians, contractors and manufacturer-trained service personnel.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:





- A minimum of three years’ relevant experience installing, servicing and repairing airconditioning and refrigeration systems.
- An AQF Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
- A current Refrigerant Handling Licence and any trade licences or registrations required to perform the role legally in Australia.
- A current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel between customer sites across the Sydney metropolitan area.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, central plant or VRV/VRF equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and control faults and complete reliable repairs or component replacement.
- Competence in brazing, leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation, refrigerant recovery, charging and system commissioning.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics, maintain accurate service records and work safely with limited supervision.
