This position is available from either our Geraldton, Kalgoorlie or Northam Campus.
We are seeking a motivated and industry experienced Lecturer Workplace Health and Safety to join our team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality training, supporting students to develop both practical and theoretical skills in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in fostering problem solving, critical thinking, and technical capability, preparing students for a physically and intellectually challenging field with strong employment outcomes. The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess, and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements.
Lecturers also undertake qualified activities and activities related to delivery. To maintain high quality educational services, lecturers are expected to stay current with technological and industry developments through ongoing professional development, ensuring the provision of up-to-date information and advice to both the College and industry.
Suitability Requirements and Eligibility
Applicants will be assessed by their skills, experiences and attributes in relation to the job requirements required for the role.
To be considered suitable for this role, you will:
- Hold a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent). If your qualification has been obtained overseas, the Overseas Qualifications Unit (OQU) offers a free assessment service to have your tertiary or higher education qualification(s) recognised. If you are shortlisted for interview, please bring original copies of your qualifications for verification.
- Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024)
in line with the Registration Standards 2025. Applicants without this qualification may apply but must be willing to enrol and complete it within two years.
- Possess current and valid Australian working rights (e.g. Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or an appropriate working visa). Please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
- Hold or obtain a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance (less than 6 months old) before you commence.
- In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
