About the Opportunity
Working under the direction of the Executive Dean, the Communications and Events Coordinator drives the School's communications, marketing, events and stakeholder engagement activity, with the aim of lifting SBL's profile and digital presence across both the University and the broader Perth business community.




The role coordinates and delivers strategies covering internal and external media activity, staff and student communications, and communications protocols and support for the School's Senior Executive.
This includes producing content and materials for online and print channels that meet ECU's brand standards, and enhancing the digital footprint of the School and its researchers by translating research and activity into clear, engaging content with genuine community impact.
The position also manages a diverse events portfolio from end to end, handling budgets, timelines, logistics and stakeholder relationships to ensure events are delivered successfully.
Close collaboration with staff across the School and the wider University is central to the role, along with a contribution to ongoing process improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
About you
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in communications and marketing, together with a demonstrated track record of delivering events and projects within a large, complex organisation, ideally within the higher education sector.
A relevant tertiary qualification is required, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through experience and professional development.
The candidate will demonstrate a solid ability to organise and present information for a range of audiences, selecting the most appropriate format and channel to ensure the intended message is clearly understood.
A high level of customer focus is essential, including the ability to identify stakeholder needs and build effective relationships across the School Executive, researchers, students and external partners.
Strong planning and organisational capability is required, including the ability to set clear objectives, manage time and resources, and respond appropriately as priorities change.
The candidate will take ownership of their work and its outcomes, exercise sound judgement,



and act with transparency and accountability.
The ability to build rapport and maintain effective working relationships across the School and the wider University is essential to success in this role.
