Robbins Watson Solicitors
Gold Coast
WILLS AND ESTATES LAWYER
**2–3 Years PAE | Burleigh Waters, Gold Coast**
Join one of the Gold Coast's premier Wills and Estates practices. Robbins Watson Solicitors is one of only two Gold Coast-based firms consistently recognised in the prestigious Doyle's Guide as a leading Queensland firm in Wills and Estates - peer-voted recognition that few firms outside Brisbane can claim.
We are seeking a Wills and Estates lawyer with approximately 2–3 years' post-admission experience to join our busy and growing Wills and Estates team at our Burleigh Waters office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who has built a solid foundation in Wills and Estates at a reputable private practice and is now looking to step up - taking on greater responsibility within an energetic, collaborative team, while drawing on the depth of senior Wills and Estates expertise that has earned the firm its statewide reputation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work closely with a hands-on, approachable Partner who leads a modern and growing estate planning and administration practice, supported by our law clerks and administrative team. You will manage a varied and active file load across estate planning and estate administration, including:
- advising clients on estate planning, succession and asset-protection strategies;
- preparing standard and testamentary trust Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney;
- assisting with complex estate-planning matters involving superannuation, trusts and company structures;
- preparing applications for Probate and Letters of Administration;
- administering deceased estates from commencement through to distribution; and
- liaising with clients, beneficiaries, accountants, financial advisers and other professionals.
This is a role for someone who wants to be an active contributor to a growing practice - not simply a cog in an established machine.
You will have real client contact, real responsibility, and a genuine say in how the team develops.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will:
- have approximately 2–3 years' post-admission experience;
- have genuine Wills and Estates experience gained within a reputable private practice;
- have experience preparing both standard and testamentary trust Wills;
- have a genuine willingness to learn and develop;
- be capable of managing an active file load and competing deadlines;
- demonstrate strong attention to detail;
- be proactive, organised and reliable; and
- work well within a busy, close-knit and cooperative team.
Experience in complex estate planning, estate disputes, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), trust or company structures, or taxation advice would be advantageous but is not essential.
WHY JOIN ROBBINS WATSON?
The role offers:
- the chance to build your career at a firm consistently peer-recognised in Doyle's Guide as a Queensland leader in Wills and Estates;
- a dynamic, growing team led by an engaged and accessible Partner;
- the ability to draw on the knowledge of the firm's senior Wills and Estates practitioners when complex issues arise;
- day-to-day support from law clerks and our administrative team;
- exposure to a broad range of interesting and increasingly sophisticated matters;
- increasing responsibility and autonomy as you develop; and
- genuine opportunities for long-term career progression as the practice grows.
The position is based at our Burleigh Waters office on the Gold Coast, which has free onsite parking for all staff, is close to the M1 and 5 minutes from the iconic Burleigh Heads.
HOW TO APPLY
If you are interested in growing your Wills and Estates career as part of a team that is genuinely building something, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please submit your resume with an accompanying cover letter via this platform.
