Yellagong Farm in the town of Williams WA is now looking for a skilled and experienced livestock overseer farm hand.
The property is ****ha arable with ****ha cropping and 7,000 sheep.
All properties are with 5km of the workshop centre.
The sheep are Woodyarup merino genetics in a self-replacement breeding system.
This job comes with new on farm accommodation which is a double brick house in a nice rural hill side setting.
It is 4 bed, 2 bathroom, 1 study with central air conditioning, established auto irrigated garden and enclosed double car garage.
We run modern, user friendly vehicles and machinery.
Work vehicle is a modern Toyota land cruiser, a John deere gator for mustering, a Eagle eye electric scale and gate sheep feeder.
We have a up-to-date, wind sealed, drive through workshop with all necessary tools.

The role.
Livestock co-ordination is the key aspect of this role.
You will lead the day-to-day running of the 7,000-head self-replacing Merino flock, taking ownership of planning, monitoring and handling across the full livestock calendar, from joining and lambing through to marking, shearing and the sale of wether lambs within 12 months.
Pasture and weed monitoring, feed planning and deferred grazing decisions sit with you, and livestock outcomes are how success in this position is measured.
Alongside this, a defined part of the role is supporting the cropping program at its seasonal peaks:
· Seeding: filling seed, fertiliser and liquid for the airseeder.
· Spreading lime, and pasture and crop fertiliser.
· Helping with servicing of harvest machinery.




· Being available for machinery and field bin shifts through harvest.
Cropping support is concentrated around seeding and harvest.
Outside those windows, the livestock program is your focus, and it remains your first responsibility year-round.
Main requirements are:
· A positive team member that is willing to help others.
· Humility and Diligence.
· Good communication and listening skills.
· Livestock skills – planning, monitoring and handling.
· Be procedural, we use cloud access written procedure guides for most operations.
· Have a HR license.
· Be able to monitor pasture and weeds.
· Experience operating tractors and loaders.
· Experience in calculating fertiliser rates.
· Mechanical knowledge of machinery.
· Train and support other staff.
· Ordering parts and supplies.
· Set tasks and finish them on time and effectively.
An excellent salary is negotiable based on experience and skills.
Hours - Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm on standard days.
When seeding and harvest is going some Saturday work is required.
Sundays are mostly not worked but some sheep work is needed in preparation for Mondays.
Williams Primary school from kindy to year 6 is 35km away on a bus rout and Narrogin district High School is 70kms away with a bus from Williams.

We incorporate flexible work hours to share the load and use casual workers for help with some operations.
