Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing healthcare team at Lismore Doctors. You will collaborate with physicians and other staff to provide the most comprehensive care possible to our patients. You will take vital signs, discuss symptoms, document health history, administer medications, and provide resources and information on how to manage medical issues at home. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of various illnesses and injuries, as well as a compassionate, hard‑working attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Immunisations and other injections
- Triage
- Wound management
- Chronic disease management
- ECGs
- Explain procedures to patients, providing them with support and reassurance
- Assisting with care plans and shared health summaries
- Assisting with telehealth consultations
- Assist doctors with clinical procedures and maintain clinical documentation
- Daily coordination of the treatment room: stock control, sterilisation, general maintenance and care of medical instruments, and equipment
- Implementing and practising infection control
- Assist with reception and practice management duties
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to high‑quality patient care and clinic growth through the following:
- Achievement of monthly billable nursing revenue targets
- Delivery of nurse‑led services that support clinic profitability and patient outcomes
- Maximising utilisation of Medicare‑funded nursing activities and health assessments where clinically appropriate
- Supporting chronic disease management programmes, care plans, and health assessments
- Maintaining a high level of appointment utilisation and minimising unused nursing appointment slots
- Assisting with patient recall and follow‑up programmes to improve service uptake and continuity of care
- Contributing to patient retention and positive patient experience outcomes
- Identifying opportunities to improve clinic efficiency, workflow, and service delivery
- Accurate and compliant clinical documentation to support billing and accreditation requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Current AHPRA registration
- Excellent communication skills
- Enjoys working in a team environment
- Working experience in an accredited general practice workplace
- A caring and collaborative approach to patient care
- A sense of urgency, compassion and professionalism
- Proven multi‑tasking, problem‑solving and time‑management skills
- Use of Best Practice programmes preferred
- Experience and knowledge of care plans and health assessments
- RN with experience in GP clinics
Additional Requirements
- Current Police Check
- Current AHPRA registration
- Current Working with Children clearance
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate
- Immunisation Record
- Driving licence or photo ID
