Registered Nurse (Aged Care) Minimum guaranteed annual earnings of $80,000 plus super, penalty and loadings, commensurate to experience (Nurses Award 2020)

Location: Parafield Gardens, Yankalilla, Goolwa & Port Augusta facilities

DAMA sponsorship opportunities available.

For those that will be assigned in Port Augusta : Relocation allowances available for the right candidates of up to $16,500 available. Yearly bonus of $3700 available for the right candidates.

Responsibilities

- Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Medication administration, checking medication stocks and ordering them from pharmacy.
- Prescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Recording resident vital signs and medical information.
- Ordering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
- Monitoring, reporting and recording symptoms or chances in resident conditions.
- Administering non-intravenous medications.
- Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating resident nursing care plans by working with health care team members
- Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
- Perform leadership role and supervise PCA practice
- Providing evidence-based care, developing clinical skills while keeping up to date with professional standards of
- practice.
- Applying wound dressings as per wound management regime
- Collecting specimen as needed and contracting laboratories to pick up
- Assessing and evaluating individual residents physical and mental conditions, working with individuals and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalating appropriately, reporting to Clinical Nurse, Doctors and Site Manager




- Ongoing communication with the care receipt’s representative to update clinical care and concerns
- Facilitating medical appointments for care recipients.
- Maintaining cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the health care team.
- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents, self and other staff.

Essential Requirements for Registered Nurses

- At least 1 year's recent paid work in aged or acute care in Australia or outside Australia
- A clear understanding of ANACC documentation and the Accreditation Standards
- Possession of a current AHPRA Nursing Registration
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A desire to uphold high standards of care and work
- Ability to work autonomously
- Solid leadership skills
- A willingness to learn and accept feedback
- A genuine desire to improve the lives of the Aged Care residents
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Undergo and maintain a current National Police Check and have no convictions that exclude you from working in aged care as per the Aged Care Act 1997.
